Sound Shell
A huge old triton shell was loaned to me by a friend, with a nudge that it may inspire a painting. It did.
But the result is a different vibe from what I expected. Instead of a robust rendition on the outsized canvas, the painting is powerful but surprisingly subtle.
And the focus is on what it's broadcasting - sound, memory, and information released from its time honoured crystalline shell.
It's big - 1010mm wide x 760mm high x 35mm deep. Acrylic. Painted edges and ready to hang.
If this painting chooses you, listen well. It has something to tell you.
