Nasturtiums in Exotic Frame

These new-born nasturtiums are a resonant match for the rich reds and golds in the ornate frame.

In a reversal of paint-first-then-find-a-frame, I found this frame in my favourite second-hand treasure trove then painted a subject that suited it. Nasturtiums had the right timeless vibe. 

They are painted on a small canvas sealed for UV protection and for easy cleaning.

The frame's outside edges measure 340mm long X 290mm wide x 40mm deep (including the decorative carving depth). The canvas interior is 228mm x 180mm.
