Shell Echoes

I collected a stack of these white shells from a Northland beach and I've used them here as a stamp for the basis of this acrylic ink painting.

I applied the ink to the shells and literally stamped them on the canvas before working the image up with more ink and brushes.

I used to paint in watercolour and the discovery of acrylic inks is returning me to that fluid freedom.

Lots of loosening...and I'm loving it.
